    Berthing status & delays:
    Geared – 2 days

Gearless – 2/3 days Yard Situation & Congestion:

Import FCL yard is going with a capacity of the yard with the average decreased volume. Overall import volume has increased slightly at CPA this week.
On average, 75% of shipment is being delivered.

    ICD Issue:

Currently, ICD, Dhaka bound stock is 55teus against the capacity of 1774teus. Recently after discharging from vsl an import container, no need to wait to come on assignment for loading on the wagon and but needs to wait a good time for not having enough container for Dhaka ICD inbound to fill the rail wagon. Containers coming at Marshall yard as export must wait a good time due to the slow import loading from CGP. Nowadays on average, 2/3 trains are going on Dhaka‐Ctg.

Import:
Import FCL yard is going with a capacity of the yard with the average decreased volume.

Model

Overall import volume has increased slightly at CPA this week. On average 70% shipment is being delivered.

Traffic Issue:

Heavy rainfall over the last few weeks devastated the port connecting road, making holes here and there. The road is becoming jam-packed any time when many more trailers use this road and regular transport time also got delayed by (1‐2)hours. Besides, on Thursday, due to import on chassis and pressure of passenger vehicle depot lying on this road, they have been struggling to feed their export cargoes on Friday sailing vessels.

Lockdown Issues:
No lockdown exists right now

Other Issues:

  •   Equipment of CMA is going extremely shortage, and ONE, HAPAG & YML is going balanced stock with demand & supply in the market. Our nominated depot also faces a shortage of ONE, COSCO & HMM.

  •   Carrier with slight shortage requested to ask for container requirement prior 3/4days of booking. Some carriers really cannot manage available equipment as per customers' demand in desired CFS.

  •   Last week SARERA (18Boxes) got shut out due to the last moment's arrival of containers. We have 4boxes of C&A and OVS, which came after vessel ops closed due to the Dhaka Chittagong highway road Jam-packed situation.

    Thanks

Customer Advisory
07 September 2021 DAC Air Market Update

Dear Valued Customer,
Please see below for Dhaka Hazrat Shah Jalal International Airport’s (DAC) current situation due to the pandemic of Coronavirus (COVID-19).
We are continuously monitoring the market and will keep you posted accordingly.

General Update:

Bangladesh lifted all lockdown restrictions on 19 August, but the restrictions/lockdowns may be imposed again if the Covid-19 infections rise in the country.

Capacity Change:

  • SV will continue triple daily pax flights.

  • QR is operating daily 3 PAX flights; Freighters to back in operations (4 of them are dedicated.

    To ITX by QR headquarter).

  • EK will continue 14x PAX flights.

  • EY operates daily Pax flights and arranges ad-hoc freighters to clear the backlog.

  • TK will operate 3x weekly freighters based on market demand and 10x pax flights.

But their 90% space is granted/sold under agreement from HDQ.

  • 7L will resume freighters as scheduled on D2, and D5.

  • SQ will operate 5x flights weekly.

  • CX to operate freighters as scheduled on D2, D4, and D6.

  • KU is scheduled to operate on D1, D2, D3, D6, and D7, but they are operating 1 or 2 flights based.

On pax load. They are operating some charter flights to AMS.

  • GF will continue operating daily pax flights, but no onwards for LHR due to flight downgraded

    EX BAH to LHR.

  • WY will operate on D2, D6, D7.

ET and RU operating weekly two freighters dedicated to ITX. Space Availability & Airport Situation:

  • Space is highly critical with the growing demand while market capacity dropped sharply from EY, EK, G9, and KU. All airlines are full till 10th Sep.

  • With the construction work in the airport, severe bottleneck/congestion was created in Cargo Village Entry Gate and unloading points that spread out to entire facilities in the airport. The regular handling process and workflow got poorly affected. The situation even worsens while X-Ray the machine got out of order 2-3 times a week.

  • Trucks waiting time has been increased by at least 24-36 hrs to get into the airport resulting in flights departing with partial load.

  • Dhaka Airport has 7 unloading platforms working out of 15 due to Terminal 3 construction.

  • Airlines are requesting to maintain an advance cut-off to avoid the last minute.

  • Due to this, many cargoes are offloading from the flights without prior notice, creating huge congestion at the airport.

 Thanks.
